Amplified Biomimicry set within an Urban Lagoon
Electronic Wind Harp Lagoon - Indian Boundary Park
Chicago, IL 2008-2018
Initially built as an object as a winning entrant into a city-wide competition for interactive sculpture, his instrument sculpture was installed on Michigan Avenue, later to be constructed as part of a lagoon development project in a city park which included the dispersion of sound devices scattered throughout the park. Sounds from the harp were electronically transmitted through solar-powered amplified speakers located inside the resonant wood chamber base and then sound processed and layered to make unique compositions. The exhibit and installation were seen not only by visitors but by internet transmission. Amplified Biomimicry
